Definitely one of the best hitters in the country!
Only thing, he didn't really have a great PSL, so probably is in contention but not quite breaking into the squad yet.
Although, I would be looking to take him to India now. Asif Ali really isn't proving to be awfully effective.

Should be groomed to become the no 6/finisher we have been yearning for
Needs to shed few kgs and at the same time should play a full season of first class
Thats why i think he should be ready by 2022 to debut
I think he needs a few more season under his belt and not lbs ast jks aside I think he really needs a couple more season. Already is one of the best and cleanest hitters in Pakistan

He should aim for the 2022 wt20
Overweight and unfit. He will cost at least 15-20 runs in the field on average. Also has very little domestic experience and has some good basis for power hitting. Shouldn't be near selection until he improves his fitness, until he plays a full season of List A and T20. Don't care much about him playing FC cricket, he's never getting into tests.
Needs to reduce a lot of weight, a big hitter yes, running between the wickets and fielding needs to improve, that will come with weight reduction.
Yes he needs to reduce weight, no one questioning that, but also seems to be one of the more effective hitters available.
But question is, is his big hitting worth the negatives? He'll be a liability in the field, his running between the wickets will also reduce the runs of the batsman with him
Cant be that bad if hes a wicket keeper though, just dont put him on the boundaries lol. IMO we have everything except a half reliable finisher so Azam could be a key player. Only reason i kind of want to rush him in is the world cup this year

Not what I meant lol, Rizwan obviously keeps in all formats no question. My point was I don’t think Azam will be a terrible fielder considering he can keep. Just put him in less difficult areas
For those (understandably) saying he will be a terrible fielder...he's done fine for Quetta...
Rizwan is an outstanding fielder anywhere on the ground. He doesn't have to keep. But I haven't watched much of Azam's keeping to come to a conclusion either way. Just saying that Rizwan can field anywhere.
He has potential and may play for Pakistan one day, however, for now he hasn't done enough to justify a call up in my books.

No one currently has brute power like this guy in Pakistan. His shots are so effortless. He needs to set a goal and make sure he converts some of his fat in to muscle, though he doesn't need to completely slim down like a Babar Azam for example. His body is not built like that, but if he can work on his fitness a la David Warner, then I'm really excited about this guy.
That's exactly what he's planning to do, judging by this picture from last year. I'm pretty sure this guy is actually serious about improving his fitness unlike Sharjeel.

I was listening to an interview where he said he can't devote all his time to training and dieting etc during a cricket season because he needs to be fresh for actual matches.
How you go from one to the other?
Insane transformation, though a lot of that muscle was 'flab', if he'd have worked out a bit more and more intense he'd have been a beast man.
Hope he can get into that shape imagine the flight on the cricket ball he would get lol
I still think Azam can play as a batsman alone in the middle / lower order.
He should debut after playing 2 more seasons of domestic cricket, provided he performs consistently. He should also work on his bowling, can be more useful then.
Both ain't happening, you know it.
