PAK Have Pakistan fans gone soft?

Thread is about Pakistan cricket
Looking at the fan videos and the "craze" around Babar in Faisalabad, which would be understandable in normal circumstances, but we just lost a test series to Bangladesh.

I still remember the anger, shock and outrage of the fans after the 2007 World Cup. We had superstars back then too, but people were genuinely upset at that team at that time, and rightly so.

Now we've lost to USA and a test series to Bangladesh, but there's barely any public outrage and people are still clamoring to see their favourite cricketer(s) despite a lack of both individual and team performances.

If the fans don't care about the performances, then why would the players want to improve?

Newer generation of fans is unfortunately very juvenile and silly. These guys think Babar is the greatest cricket to ever play the game lol

I think that’s a very small yet vocal minority on SM which is skewing perception.

The rest of the people, myself included, can’t be bothered putting up with these teletubbies and so it’s a case of the silent treatment/ignoring PCT until things get better.

Most fans have realised that like bijli, pani, gas, mehengai, corruption, etc. a few statements and band aid policies won’t do anything, sweeping reforms are needed. Until those come along, nothing will change.

If anything I think it’s good that there’s less attention and interest in these frauds. It’s the one thing that gives them power and ego and maybe taking that away from them for a bit will show them their auqaat.

This era of fans have been the gayest I've ever seen.

Honestly those freshy fans were better that would say where is Dahani and didn't even bother looking at the selection list twice lol

Fan reaction in Faisalabad suggests otherwise

I agree with FW11 and AP, since most of these younger fans havent seen us achieve big wins so any win is a big win for them and any defeat for them doesnt really matter.

Also, the fact that passion towards country has declined considerably which is why individual targets/wins are celebrated more compare to national wins.

Could it perhaps also be that back then there wasn't social media, live TV wasn't as readily available, etc. and therefore our perception of patriotism/passion is skewed?

He's just a kid, harsh.
It's still gae - honestly the celebrity worship is insane and something we shouldn't follow. If you happen to come across the person in real life fair enough ask for a pic, but to run across a field past guards to take a pic like a desperate person i'd put it into the category of when Frodo woke up from his dream in Lord of the Rings and his friend is giving him a gay look from across the room that's how gay this is.

More realist fans including myself has realized that Pak team is not what it used to be. So my expectations are very very low so when we win I take that as a good surprise, I get happy watch highlights few times and if we loose that is what is expected.

Sooner we realize we do not have a world-class team anymore sooner we be better off.

Babar is protected, his PR is immense, backed by leading political party, the PCB, Journalists.

Pakistan needs a superstar to worship and they have Babar so even if he is drop worthy it’s never going to happen. Majority of his fan base are kids too now. The amount of farigh kids in Pakistan is at an all time high

Ah yes, the future of the country, the next generation that will carry us forward, the pioneers of the 21st century... Making real rational life choices...

Anyway, I don't think this dude has any liberty over who he gets married to or when. Abu ji do lagain gay aur agle din pupho ki beti qubool hai.
