I think the issue is the unreliable middle order which forces them to conserve their wickets and be more careful. We just need to sort out our middle order.

Rizwan is a limited player but he is a solid heart - He will be ok in cricket just because of his mindset and spirit.

Babar is the best player of our generation, but he needs to soar like the eagle he is. Screw thinking about the middle order, come out swinging and do your thing. He can kick on to be one of the GOATS of the game if he plays with less fear.

People may think I am critical of Babar, but I genuinely love this guy. He just has the potential to be unbelievably good and leave all batsmen in the shade. But he can't do that by putting pressure on himself and reducing himself to tuk tuk because he is scared of the middle order.

And lets be realistic - If the target was 170 would they have played this way?

Probably not. Englands score forced them to unshackle the chains and look at what they achieved.

I agree.

Been saying for a while, the player selection is not the issue, it's the approach and mindset we follow.

In the next T20 this same team will buckle a chase of 120 and we'll be back to square 1.

I'm not expecting them to smash every delivery for a boundary, but play the ball on it's merit.

Today was a masterclass in how destructive we can be.
