I would vote for Shadab Khan just like Shahid Afridi was in Odis and t20s but Shadab needs to work hard on his bowling imo...
In my opinion, many players would find it difficult to keep their places in all 3 formats in next year or so and many young players should make their debuts and play for Pakistan in near future imo...
Shahid Afridi was a very natural and brilliant Captain in limited overs cricket imo...
2011 World Cup performance was brilliant as a player as well as Captain... Most of cricket was being played in UAE between 2010 & 2020 and our limited overs team performance was not good at that time but reason was not Afridi for failure in limited overs, our test team was performing outstandingly...

He would have won 2011 World Cup had he got the services of 3 banned players - Asif, Amir and Salman Butt, who were amongst the best in the world imo... As far as other than World Cup is concerned, reason for bad record was batting in Odis... We had only one solid batsman - Sir Misbahulhaq in Odis. Whole batting played around him. Our bowling was brilliant imo with likes of Junaid, Irfan, Saeed Ajmal, Wahab, Shahid Afridi and Hafeez... We lost several series in UAE in limited overs cricket cus of poor batting... Our test team was No. 1 team of the world cus of Younus, Misbah, Azhar, Asad, Hafeez, Saeed Ajmal and Yasir Shah...
If Shadab is left out, my next choice would be Imamulhaq for Captaincy and I might be picking Khushdil Shah in place of Shadab then. In that case, I would have Salman Agha batting at 4, Faheem Ashraf 5 and Khushdil 6. Azam Khan and Harris, 2 wicketkeepers would continue to bat at 7&8. Batting order would be flexible according to match situation...
Those 3 players were banned just before the world cup and they were key players for us... Their loss was a huge setback for our team imo...
Problem with 2023 World Cup campaign was it was a test team, which we had fielded. Abdullah Shafique, Imamulhaq, Babar Azam, Rizwan, Saud Shakeel and Iftikhar Ahmed were all one dimensional players. You can do with 1 Imamulhaq, rest of the team should consist of power hitters like Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan and then all-round players like Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Salman Agha and Harris as Wicketkeeper batsman. Babar Azam would obviously be there in any playing 11......
Abdullah outperformed Imam so why should we persist with Imam and not Abdullah
Abdullah Shafique ko test cricket mein rakha hai, Imamulhaq in limited overs cricket imo...
