This is a Player Performance watch thread
Never been the same after that knee-injury. He has definitely lost a few yards of pace too and that has made a huge difference. Not sure if he'll ever reach that level again.

Still he bowls with a lot of heart and manages to get wickets somehow but not the same Shaheen who a lot of people were rating as the best bowler in the world.

The injury definitely had an impact but do you think his attitude has also changed? It appears he thinks of himself more of an all rounder now.

Maybe but his biggest issue is the pace he has lost which is definitely a physical issue.

He needs to look after his body, have solid rest/recovery post matches to avoid getting overcooked again. Also, work with a top class bowling coach to get back to his old self.
How will he earn money if he doesnt play in T20 leagues tho?

The loss of pace has meant he has lost that fear factor. Also, he tends to go for the inswinging yorker too often and it is too predictable and can be neutralised easily without the extra pace. Shaheen needs to vary his pace and length more often.

Those mentioning his lack of pace, let’s not forget Shaheen himself doesn’t admit that he has lost any pace.

Someone needs to smack some sense into these guys’ brains and make them realize that they can have technical issues and deficiencies.
This is why I pointed at his attitude and mindset being the main issue.

He’s paid well enough being on A graded contract, he can play leagues just not every single one, there needs to be a limit for these players now.

He got injured due to overkill of cricket last time, he needs to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
I agree with you but I’m sure seeing some random players getting more money in IPL will make these guys feel some type of way

Yes he can, if he is sent back to play domestic and given a target of reaching 145mph+ or say bye-bye to international cricket.

Just some stats on Shaheen this year:

In 24 games, he's got 35 wickets with 24 wickets out of 35 being SENA plus India. However, although the wickets aren't the issue the main issue is the ER with it being 8.39 this year but if you take out the minnows it's 8.89.
