We are saying RIP over a meaningless T20 game after losing to a vastly superior team who let's be honest would beat us fielding a second 11. I will be honest with u guys. As fans we turned our backs on Test cricket. Where was RIP when we lost 3-0 to England conceeding 600 in a day's play. Losing to Australia both home and away, being saved by the bell against NZ. Consistently losing to WI and SL. Two teams who are out of sorts in Test cricket.

It's not much better when it comes to ODIs. We all saw how they got exposed on batting wickets in the previous WC. We're playing far too many weaker sides because top teams think Pakistan doesn't warrant a full strength side being sent and they're justified when we play like we do.

Pak was always going to be a poor Test team after the retirement of Misbah and Younis. The FC system was in shambolics. With ODIs, a similar feeling reverberated last year.

The reason it's RIP over a T20WC is because this is the one thing this team was supposed to be good at - dominated and made it to the SF in 2021 and the final in 2022 (albeit with a severe dose of luck). Even at its lowest, the Pak team has always been competitive in T20s. Now this is a new low. Hence the RIP. Nothing left, no format to look forward to, no tournament we can dominate, no country we can excel in. Hence the sentiment.

Oh Bhai sit down. We had witnessed much much horrible losses than this. This is nothing. This is T20 and played on half backed pitches. Anyone can lose from any position.

Pakistan Cricket has seen worse and survived
for sure. Though from top to bottom everyone is there because of their politics backing

from chairman to the ridiculous large PCB staff to squad members that were kicked out but brought back in because they are backed by Noon league.

They don’t deserve any support. They deserve everything that is happening to them.

I haven’t watched a cricket match in a long time. But this time I decided to stay awake and watch it given was a bank holiday the next day. Watched all the way down to the 11th over, Rizwan and Usman were at the crease, 57 on the scoreboard, 11th over completed and they called the drinks break. I vividly remember it was approaching 5AM and I was already half asleep.

Went to bed in the blissful comfort that I did not waste most of my night’s sleep. Woke up an hour and half later for Fajr, checked the results, and couldn’t believe my eyes.

To be honest, the joke’s on me. Never again.
